What is Go with a Porpoise?

Go With a Porpoise is a whale migration board game where players take on the role of migrating whales, traveling from feeding grounds to warm waters and completing the cycle of life.

Using a deck of 80+ illustrated cards, players move along a whimsical migration route by identifying whale species, seabirds, ocean animals, whale food, and human impacts—both helpful and harmful. Along the way, you gather resources, build your crew, face real and imaginative ocean challenges, and follow the rhythms of the sea, until at last you guide a new calf into the world, and the cycle begins again.

Somewhere along the journey, something unexpected happens: you quietly become someone who knows a lot about whales.

It’s part game, part field guide, and part ocean adventure, designed for families, classrooms, and anyone who feels drawn to the sea.

From Concept to Creation:

This game has been fully designed and play-tested, with prototypes already created.

I am currently preparing for production and distribution to coastal shops, whale-watching companies, and educational venues.

With Funding I will:

  • Produce the first full run of the game

  • Expand into coastal gift shops and marine museums

  • Travel to whale-watching communities along the East Coast

  • Continue developing educational and companion materials

I am bringing ocean education to life through storytelling, play, and connection to the natural world.
